Man up you big girl's blouse. A bit of flu never hurt anyone*.

* Apart from my mate Alan. He was truly one of the fittest men I've ever known and was under a bit of pressure from his club to compete in a race when he had " a touch of the flu". The result was that he suffered pericarditis from exerting himself with a bacterial infection and was left with a weakened heart. Years of trouble ensued resulting in him keeling over with an MI mid-bowl during a cricket match. His heart was stopped for 13 minutes and only his previous supreme fitness saved him. It failed to save his heart though and he suffered massive heart failure. Fortunately, he was still young, economically viable and had two children by this time so he was high up the list of donor heart recipients. He receieved a new heart about four years' ago and this has saved him but he is a shadow of his former self. The contrast between what he was and what he now is has to be seen to be believed. It is truly staggering.

Barnet,
MrsP went down last night with some nasty bug, Both ends. She was fine until about 7.45pm when it all broke loose.;) She tried to blame me for the spag bol I cooked, nobody else is suffering. She kept me awake until 3.00am with her chundering and bad stomach. A bit better today, a couple of glasses of water but no food yet. I'll see what happens after a light tea tonight.

I have the lurgy.
OH thinks it is bird flu. He got an email from his employers yesterday saying how bird flu will cross to humans within 3 years and could leave 25% of the population dead (which would dramatically affect sales:o)
The email went on to say how the government has got medicines for children, the elderly and essential workers, and how the company has decided to purchase enough medicine to cover every employee.
Needless to say Mr Surf has ordered medicines for himself and is considering his company's kind offer to purchase medicines for his family. I think I heard him mutter "Depends how much it costs."

I'm ill ... I think I have man-flu to be honest. Told I only had a cold, but I said it's worse then that.

That sounds like something I had a few years ago!

It's VERY unpleasant and highly contagious. Particularly common at nursery schools.

Hope she feels better soon, and that you avoid it.

....well, that's shut me up.

I have taken a few days off due to feeling a bit run down with a slight cold and sore throat, but I'd hardly class it as life threatening. I am ultra safe though and see no point in risking it, if I don't feel 100% then I don't go out.
