No....he's 3.

It is the anthromorpisati.... Humanisation of animals.... But they really DO age quicker, so it is just an attempt to understand the dog better.

For what its worth, for the average medium sized dog I think it is 7 dog years for every human year, but it increases the bigger the dog's breed gets (big dogs like Great Danes tend to live shorter lives, so they theoretically age quicker, whereas small horrible yappy things go on forever).
Cindy is 13 or.... 91 I think (she is reasonably small though), and she is certainly like an old lady now

I don't know who thought it all up (probably vets or something) but it helps you imagine how old your dog is biologically if not literally.

Besides, who calls a dog Bonzo these days?? That is almost as bad as Fido or Rover!
