I'm after some free photo editing software

Does anyone know where I can get hold of some software for editing photos?

I'm looking to do things such as superimposing heads on different bodies and so on, similar to Photoshop.

GIMP is free and has many options similar to Photoshop.
Takes as while to get used to, but it's free ....

I have never used Gimp so don't know how they compare, but last time when I needed to tranplant someone who wasn't in the photo in one quick, Fotoflexer (which is cloud based so does not require installation) did the trick.
