I'm trotting off to South Norfolk tomorrow for a few days' holiday.

The trike is battling for space in the back of the car with the dog.

Once there I shall go out for a few rides - if anyone wants to join me, perhaps to show me some of the (hopefully flat) routes of Norfolk, please PM me.

I am staying near Ellingham, between Beccles & Bungay.

Beccles to Norwich along the sustrans network route 1 is a pleasent ride.

Yes, I was thinking about visiting the Earsham Otter Trust as I don't think I've ever seen one before.

I may try the Beccles-Norwich Sustrans route as the friends I am holidaying with were thinking of driving to Norwich one day so I can go the green route!

I'm planning to ride to Norwich tomorrow.. because I have never been. I have plotted a route following the NCN1 so who knows how good it will be, returning home via the B1332.

I'm finding the roads around here pretty rough, mostly surface-dressed rather than decent tarmac. I have pumped my tyres up pretty high and it's making for a rough ride - so rough that my Garmin got its knickers in a twist today and reset itself again.

It's the Norfolk Show tomorrow as well, so there may be quite a few extra cars out on the road all over the county where the kids have the day off school.

I'm doing a 50 miler tomorrow from the Close in the morning. No idea what direction we are heading though.

Do you think I should put the Norwich trip off till Thursday then? My chums were planning to drive up and walk around, sounds like they might have traffic traumas if they do so.

No, because it will be the same on Thursday! Just avoid the B1332 and A143.

I'd say a nice route would be to head straight up to Loddon, then Claxton, Rockland, Bramerton and come in through Trowse on NCN1. You'll have to carry the trike through a sort of kissing gate (the type to stop cyclists which don't have a moving barrier) coming into Trowse.

Well Will, it appears that tomorrow I may attempt Norwich!

Today I did Southwold (for the beer) and then Halesworth.

Can't think of anything to do tomorrow apart from Norwich, so am planning to avoid the Norfolk Show and do the NCN1 route that you suggested above.

Have you got a better offer? Want to meet me for a cream tea somewhere?
