I can't believe no-one's suggested we all go round to Crackle's house for a party....

I'll bring nuts, and cheesy-pineapple-on-sticks and the bottle of Sainsburys Basic red wine I've had for over 2 years now....

Long story, involving suddenly not having anyone to share it with and not wanting to open the bottle, for fear of finishing it all off on my own, which would be a Bad Thing.

Although I've just been to check, and it's not Basic, it's a Tourraine I bought in France a couple of years back.

I've got a bottle of beer in the back of the fridge I haven't opened for sentimental reasons either.

Anyway, where's this party?

Ok, you've left it a bit late to start so you'd better get going:-

1. strip all the beds and get it all washed and dried
2. air all the mattresses, duvets, pillows, leave for 3-4 days before making up again
3. wash and dry all towels
4. tackle as much as you can of the kids rooms, but ensure you've got all laundry
5. wash and iron all dirty clothes
6. make sure all wardrobes and drawers are sorted and iron any clothes that need it
7. dust, and damp cloth wipe, ceilings, walls and skirtings
8. clean windows, and frames, inside and out
9. dust and polish in general
10. hoover/wash all floors
11. deep clean the kitchen and sort cupboards and drawers, pay particular attention to those hard to get places and the cooker/oven
12. make sure that the vast quantities of rubbish you've accumulated are taken to the tip
13. sort contents of fridges and freezers, defrosting where need be
14. as you go round the house complete all those little DIY jobs that you've been 'saving' up
15. don't forget to take a little time for yourself

It's only a week you know  And you left out strip the wallpaper off the front room walls and ceiling, it's not even on the list.

Gawd, I hope Mrs Crackle doesn't see that list.

What? Where've I been? Well asleep on the couch if you must know. The dog's snoring woke me up. He was lying on my chest.

All this peace and quiet, and the endless choices of what to do, it can be very tiring.:smile: I would take it very steady if I were you. BTW remember to change your clocks tonight, I wouldn't want you getting up too early late at the wrong time tomorrow.

But whatever you do, DON'T get a suntan; that's a giveaway!

The wife will NEVER forgive you! ;)

 Fear not, it's not just the suntan which would give me away but the small dint in the bank acct. I have no aspirations for sunshine, this is the dying time of the year for me and I enjoy it. I shall scatter leaves on a few downhills instead.

I've knackered the dog

Well we went to Delamere today and did the skills trail but I didn't do too much because the mobile chicane was worrying me a bit as I was screaming downhill. So we went off and explored some singletrack but as I was by myself, I didn't go to slow. I did stop for him but obviously he's feeling it now.

Flat out on his cushion, never even asked to go out this afternoon. I just spoke to him, the eyes didn't open but the tail wagged. Only the rustle of a cheese wrapper will move him now. :becool:
