A Minging Manc...
Just came out of Sainsbury’s to find this...

Had a look around the nearby rows but couldn’t spot any possible culprits and no CCTV that I could see so I guess will just have to take it on the chin.
I very naively looked for a note tucked under the wipers (you never know!) but they must have just scarpered when they realised what they had done :cursing:
It might not be as bad as it looks but it isn’t going to polish out and will always show. I guess this is why I wanted an older/cheaper car (I mean older/cheaper than this one).

I wouldn’t mind but I was actually parked towards the other side of the parking spot with the next thing being the trolley bay so they had a space like a runway to fit into but still managed to hit my car!!!!! It seems they let anybody drive when it should actually be restricted to those that can control and manoeuvre a car with some ability. This may just be turning into inane rambling but I reckon the chances of being killed due to the mistake of a driver are far greater than the chance of being killed by an airline pilots error? If this is the case why is the training and control of our driving population not increased to at least match that of the airlines?

Here for rides.
I think we did this one quite recently.

Looks like most will t-cut out and it's possible, possible, that they didn't even know they'd done it.

You couldn't not know you had done that could you (well unless you are driving a mini bus into the sun and your wing mirror hits something possibly).

As for tucking a note under the wippers, a friend and I watched as someone reversed into a car, got out, inspected the damage and then left a note. We went over to inspect the note afterwards .... just a blank piece of paper. So we wrote on it the car reg and where it had moved to up the road ;).

Yes, I think it will clean up ok, the panel work doesn't look deformed but the bumper strip is a bit squished. It isn't going to disappear but won't be bad enough to justify spending money on. It is definitely a car, most likely white or similar light colour and is certainly not a trolley.

The fact that they may not have known they did it is IMO irrelevant, if they are not capable of parking in a generous parking space without hitting something should they be driving? It's almost exactly the same skill set and judgement required to pass a cyclist on the road without clipping them!

Looks like it is dented in the lower part, but seeing as I fix dents for a living I would say that. Looks like a front bumper, either that car was going in or reversing out. The supermarket may have cctv, but not sure if they will let you see the film.

If you were closer I would say pop it around, give it a good compound and send me a couple of pictures from different angles I will be able to offer more advice then.

I had the same happen to me in a Tesco car park just before Christmas (also one space down from a trolley bay, and also a black car). It's only a car, but the fact that people run away like cowards instead of taking responsibility for their actions is still infuriating.

I aslo dislike the feeling that people make judgements about your driving from having dents in a car, regardless of how difficult it would have been for you to cause that damage yourself.

It does bother me that people might assume I am a crap driver because the side of my car is scraped. However, while I was looking at the other cars in the supermarket carpark it was shocking to see the number of cars with multiple injuries! Some cars had dents and scrapes all over, cracked bumpers, taped on mirrors and badly scratched rims/trims. These must be the people that have caused many thousands of pounds to other, otherwise immaculate cars and have probably driven off from every incident? :cursing:
