MrsP's car is now a mass of little dents and dings, all from various car parks in Barnet. Almost every week the car collects a new scratch from people who can't park, or open their doors onto it. She has tried parking in varying parts of the car parks but they still get the car.

That sort of thing annoys me no end. Had it a few times, and my wife was dinged on a few week old car. Smart repair companies could do a good job on that.

My father in law is a nightmare driver. His car keeps coming back with dents and dings, and we aren't sure if it's other cars or walls ? He shouldn't be on the road, but he even blagged his eye test recently. Let's say he walked out of the hospital without realising he didn't have his glasses on, he had left them inside. God I can't see without mine ! Frightening.

If I have to use a car park I park as far away from the shop as possible - most people won't walk from the far end of the car park. I always try to get an end space and park as far over to that side as I can to leave a big space for people in massive cars who can't open their door carefully.

But mainly I try to leave the car at home

I've given up on worrying about cars these days. I have a beater mundano estate and I DGAF about scratched / dings.

That doesn't help you of course. Isn't Sainsbo's car park covered by CCTV?

If I have to use a car park I park as far away from the shop as possible - most people won't walk from the far end of the car park. I always try to get an end space and park as far over to that side as I can to leave a big space for people in massive cars who can't open their door carefully.

This is my usual ploy but in the last 12 months a new M&S has opened on the same site and the spots are in short supply. Today, all my 1½ width spaces at the row ends were taken so I had to choose a safe looking spot else where and look at the result!

I'm sure there is some CCTV but I had a good look around and couldn't spot anything that was remotely close enough to catch the perpetrator in action. I think the CCTV is reserved for the store entrance and cash machine areas.

I'm not going to lose sleep over this but it's just frustrating how you have belongings that you look after and show respect to other peoples property then the a55h*les that just don't give a fig screw your stuff up anyway.

Yesterday morning, I was looking out of NT's first floor kitchen window and saw a car pull in to a parking space in the front area outside next door, which is flats. There are three parking paces, side by side along the fence. The driver pulled into the space, just fine. There was a pause, then she reversed out again, and came back in, only a bit over to the driver's side. Then another pause, back out again, and back in, now with the driver's side virtually wheels on the line of the space. Finally, she was content, and got out. Bizarre! The next space was empty, but if anyone parked in it normally, centrally, she would have struggles to get her driver's door open to get back in. Just imagine, when you see cars parked over to one side like that, they might have made an effort to get it like that!

I've got a kiddies 2 seater trailer. Stuck about £70 worth of Aldi shoping in it before, along with a 50l rucksack on my back.
