ditch the effin horn![]()
Had an update on this from Hampshire Police, the officer has mentioned two things mainly,
#1 I was in the wrong for swearing at the driver as he passed me, this would not allow it to go to court.
#2 I was in the wrong for cycling where I was, I should be a foot from the kerb.
A load of bollocks from a cop who doesn't want to do his job.

1. swearing isn't a problem when you are put in a position of danger. It's human nature to do something like that. Continued swearing in ear shot of the public could be a section 5 of the public order but even then it's not up to the police officer to decide if that keeps it out of court. That is the CPS job.Had an update on this from Hampshire Police, the officer has mentioned two things mainly,

I won't go into more details as i've been advised not to moan and groan about the police officers advice, even though I fully disagree with it. If anyone wishes to know further details, please feel free to PM me, it's probably jsut a matter of opinion.

2. Obviously completely incorrect, I would really have expected better from a "traffic officer".
I would personally move this higher up the chain, advise from that so called traffic officer could get someone killed, which is the opposite of his job!
The officer is a keen cyclist himself and says that he will be ringing Bikeability to explain to them that teaching Primary is a silly idea. I'd love to be there for that conversation. According to the officer, I should be riding a foot from the kerb, where drivers expect cyclists to be, or in the case of that roundabout, the left side of my lane, by the dotted white line.
Yeah right.
I think this is the new "I have a coloured friend" strapline.![]()

are you 100% sure he was a traffic officer? The more I here about this fellow the more I can't believe it.The officer is a keen cyclist himself and says that he will be ringing Bikeability to explain to them that teaching Primary is a silly idea. Yes he is traffic. He has visited me at home in the past regarding another incident.
Back then he said similar about my riding.
