I don't fancy riding those roads much, reminded me of the rounabout where the A34 meets the M3 somewhat. Those roads have no facility for cyclists at all. Take care !

Personally I would peel into the middle lane on the 1st roundabout going under the flyover and then stick to the left lane for the stretch afterwards. Then I would try to slot into a gap and change lanes just before the 2nd roundabout (loads of shoulder checks/signals to make your intentions clear).

I know that the stretch after the 1st roundabout says it is for left only so your line is correct, but it is a fair distance before the 2nd roundabout and with the difference in speed I would rather not be undertaken there.

I've tried this approach in the past. However I found that either cars would close pass to my right, cut in on me late as they want to turn left, or block me from getting into right lane. So now I stick to my Lane but keep my speed above 25mph. The NSL is from the rbt to the next Ser of traffic lights, silly idea really, should've been left at 30 or 40mph imo.

What else do you expect from an idiot in a 4x4.....

4x4 hahahaha!!! i'm going to use that from now on, I like it.

crappy set of roads.....wouldn't fancy them.

I ended up close passing a cyclist the other day, I had room to pass but the car coming in the opposite direction decided to move over so his tyres were running the centre lines on the road, the only thing I could do is move over a smidge so the cyclist still had room. if i'd have slammed on it would have caused chaos, so I tried to get as close as I could to the car coming in the opposite direction to get the idiot to move back over a bit.

it's a bit crap seeing a cyclist shaking his head at you in the rear view mirror. I was gonna stop and talk to the cyclist but there was too much traffic

Whilst the driver was a w@nker, I did note that when changing lanes you don't appear to look round or over your shoulder. It's not called a lifesaver glance for nothing...

I only change lanes once and that's when I'm coming off the rbt. I do actually shoulder check there. Plus for the rest of the clip, you'll notice I'm glancing down a lot. This is not only to check and maintain my 25mph + but also to check my mirror. On average I must check my mirror every 5-10 seconds.

These are exactly the sort of roads I try to avoid. I think your positioning and manouvering were fine but it's obvious that even with good riding one has to keep up a fair old lick to stand any chance at all here.
These are junctions designed solely for the car and lorry and designed to keep them moving as quickly as possible. At this they are very effective and as long as they are operating within their design capacity they do keep cars moving quickly. I don't think drivers are expecting to see cyclists here but that does not excuse the behaviour of this greasy penis in any way.
I'd like to see junctions like this completely re-designed with a safe and practical route round for cycles.

There is a cycle path running round the side of the rbt. But as I've mentioned in a previous video this takes twice the time and involves crossing fast sliproads.

I personally would definitely use it despite the time. However it certainly isn't obvious that there is a cycle path there so it was probably an afterthought. Also going at that speed I don't think you were really getting in anyones way and it should be safe for you to use the rbt. I tend to pootle a bit so it would be more appropriate for me to use the cycle path.

That's just poor observation/anticipation.

I wouldn't care what your excuse was, a close pass is a close pass.
I'm not looking to start an argument but I've heard this and many other 'excuses' for a close pass before and none of them make it any less unpleasant, or justifiable. It's a misjudgement which places all of the risk on the cyclist.

It's unacceptable.
