I cycled past Claud Monet's house and garden this week and took some pictures of the garden through the hedge - I was too impatient to joint the long queue to get in and too tight fisted to cough up anyway. My camera's autofocus created a nice impression of impressionism though...

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.

I've always wanted to go there, but it doesn't sound like I'd like the crowds and the cost either- shame.

I don't know how much it cost to get in but I was passing at opening time so there was a massive queue. Just looked up the admission charge - 9.5 €. I reckon later in the day would be less busy. They did look stunning. The water gardens, I reckon were on the opposite side of the road and the hedging was too dense to see through. Looking at the pictures that I took, I have pangs of regret that I didn't go in balanced by the fact that I'd have arrived in Paris even later than my late arrival on Thursday.

Vernon, just down the road is worth visiting too even if I do say so myself.

Just realised you were in France, didn't think Monet had a house in Leeds.

This was my house en route - wild camping in a spot around 150 metres from the spot where I was scrutinised by the gendarmerie from the comfort of their gendamerie mobile. The safety surface was nice and flat and comfortable. The posts provided a secure anchor point to lock my bike to - a perfect pitch.
