I produce the occasional vindaloo induced vortex but have yet to see a real tornado. I hope that remains the case when I take on the Northern Tier ride through the tornado belt in a few years time.

I was driving a pick-up truck (high kwaliddy rental y'all) from Dallas to Austin one time and there was a storm and tornado combo, managed to avoid getting too near to the main action, still pretty intense though.

Good excuse for a Friday morning twister referencing George Jones country song, he's (was) a good ol' Texas boy.

You'll probably want to order the CD now, it's on The Cold Hard Truth album, good stuff!

Years ago I remember seeing a mini vortex right in front of me. On the ground the dirt about 1 metre in diameter was being spun around about twice per second. There was no visible column of disturbed air above it. The effect slowly moved around before fading away. Spooky.

They are a regular sight in the playground at work. The layout of the buildings sets up litter vortices which occasionally lift the crisp packets three stories high
