Cast Iron here.

Perfect burgers - get smoking hot, drop in burgers. Wait 1 min, turn over then bung the pan in a not oven for 6 minutes. Remove the burgers and rest for 5 minutes.

Note to Mortherners: not Birds Eye frozen horse burgers.
That's nearly 15 minutes for a burger! I do my steaks on high heat at 1 minute a side. Lovely!!

I cook mine the Gordon Ramsay way - video on YouTube. In a frying pan, olive oil, salt, pepper and butter. Lovely.

Yeah but you're French.

I remember working in a small town in Brittany years ago that only had one basic hotel. There was an American guy with us who asked for his steak to be medium done, when it came out still dripping the look on his face was hilarious, he ordered well done from then on.

We've had our Teflon pans (poss Tefal?) for 11 years now and no issues.

Steak goes in the George Forman Grill, or even better on the bbq in summer!.

We've had an "air fryer" for a year now, burgers in the top come out jucy and plump but bbq wins again over that/ grilling or pan frying!.

I do double burgers, bun base - cheese slice - burger - cheese - burger - cheese - bun top, lovely!.

I'd promote that from double to triple burger.

I must have missed it. Has there been a learned study that indicated that Teflon is slightly worse than only eating three portions of vegetables each day?

We have had two ceramic frying pans. First was a cheap Aldi/Lidl pan which lasted about 6 months before stuff started to stick. We then went for the JML type pan for £30. That lasted for 6 months before stuff started to stick. We now have a Teflon pan from Lakeland and it's still brilliant after 2 years.

Cast Irons alright if you can get SWMBO'd to stop scrubbing and allow the coating to build up. She also
hates it because of the weight. It does her wrists in.

I've never liked Teflon, it's nasty stuff and as I now have fried eggs for brekkie every day daily teflon is not a good thing. My current Teflon offering was loosing its slip so I went in search of an alternative. I though about a proper well seasoned cast iron job but then whilst shopping for new bedding in Beales I chanced across these new-fangled (to me anyhow) white ceramic coated jobbies.
Bloody brilliant!
No nasty Teflon, slippier than a slippy thing (and any other non-stick pan I've ever used) and uses bugger-all oil too. Fab :-)

I commend them to the house!
How are your pans getting on?

Our el-cheapo ones were doing great until very recently - they just needed a quick wipe down after use with a cloth. This all worked fine as washing up and the dishwasher are my jobs. However, recently Mrs Knees told me that she'd put the ceramic pans in the dishwasher. They're rubbish now.
