In praise of Credit Cards

I was away for 2 weeks when the 'ash problem' started.

I wasn't affected in anyway flights left on time no problems - Got my C/card statement this morning and they have refunded all charges that had applied while I was overseas (only £5.70)

I rang and said what's this for?
They replied we thought as a loyal customer you may have experianced some trouble we wanted to make a gesture

So there are sometimes they are not complete (insert word of choice)


Started young, and still going.

I was quite surprised to get £200 from my amex travel insurance (ash clould stuff) as a gesture of goodwill when the policy specifically excluded that scenario. It only took a three minute phone call to sort out too.
