In Praise of Eli Wallach

When I heard of his death, I immediately thought of his appearance as Frankie Five Angels in the Godfather. Only he wasn't Frankie Five Angels and I always thought it was him. It was this guy and in my mind, he was Eli Wallach.

I've got a signed copy of his autobiography, the inscription reads 'best wishes from an old bandit - Eli Wallach'.

Sad news. So many different roles. The last thing I saw him in was The Holiday with Cameron Diaz, Jack Black, Kate Winslet and Jude Law

He'll always be Tuco to me - what a brilliant actor to have created such an unforgettable character. He was brilliant as Calvera in The Magnificent Seven, but Tuco was special. Very sad to hear of his passing, although at 98 he had a really good innings.
