Roughly two weeks ago now I decided to put some new cleats on my s-works shoes ready to start racing this weekend. In the process, and too my horror, I discovered extensive cracking of the carbon fibre around the cleat on the left shoe

Luckily though they were still (just about) inside the warranty period, so I posted them down from Sheffield to south London so Dad could take them back to the shop - but still fairly worried that the shop would have none of it...

but luckily Specialized were happy to replace them under warranty

Nice one! Good when they do that. A mate of mine had a specialized helmet and broke it by headbutting a tree when he came off a bike at speed. He sent the helmet back and they gave him a top of the range one for free (I think they used the old one for research). My mate was dead chuffed.

they're the 'Boa' system, twist one way to tighten up the (stainless steel) laces and the other way to loosen them, extremely comfortable
