It's odd you say that. I saw him on telly the other night and after the filmed standard stand-up there was a high-tech slo-mo recreation of a scene from his sketch. The contrast in presentation between live and staged was striking - almost as though he's caught between 2 extremes.
I like him, mind, if only because he does trenchant better than anybody else on TV right now.

We have seen him on the TV and the audience were crying with laughter, I watched the first half hour and was bored rigid, we tried the following week same again, not at all funny. Not my cup of tea I am afraid.

I like him, his humour is right up my street. Not really into stand-up that much, but the popular comedians that appear to be around now, John Bishop, Michael McIntyre, Frankie Boyle etc, do absolutely nothing me. I guess comedy is obviously personal thing.
