I cooked the lovely Mr M a poncey dinner tonight
Pan fried filet with a chilli and pepper jus, :giggle: Autumn greens (peas are nice tonight dear) half a spud and some mushies , gave it 8.5 out of 10.
Must do better

I think us chaps need to be careful about praising wives/partners, in case it sets some sort of legal precedent . They might come to expect it of us! I write this safe in the knowledge that Mrs LL doesn't read this ^_^

Mine won't go cycling with me, but is happy for me to go on cycle trips without her. Had three days in Norfolk earlier this month, including meeting up with Wafflycat, formerly of this parish.

My girlfriend (now wife) got me a lovely 50th birthday present. I'd been dithering about going to see the Philip Glass opera Einstein on the Beach in London, both of us being fans of his stuff. Einstein, though tunefull, is a lot longer, repetitious, and dare I say "experimental" than some of his stuff, so decided to skip it, given we'd also need hotels and such. Last minute change of mind but only £100 tickets were by then left - i guess no then. So birthday morning, opened an envelope with tickets on - rather pleased despite the extravegence - then looked again - in Amsterdam. I think tickets and flights were less than the london just tickets, and hotel was naturally less than london too. A fine romatic weekend away it was. An at the show, we noticed other concertgoers nudging each other and pointing past us. We turned to look and there's Phillip Glass himself sat at the end of our row, checking out the opening night. And very good it was too- what a brilliant and romantic present.
