...the Northern Lights

I have a stack of airmiley type points with Norwegian so tlh and I can travel for free.

Where in Northern Europe would you recommend to go and see the Northern Lights, and when would you recommend going to see them?

(Ideally somewhere with direct flights from Gatwick, or else on the Norwegian network....)

I was in Trondheim last weekend with the misses and was collected by her mate at the airport.

Had a lovely show of a green hue for most of the 25 minute journey back.

So, try Trondheim.

Ok. It's on the list. Looks a little like Inverness ;)

Yeah, both routes are covered.
via Oslo or Bergen in both cases it seems...

Would have thought Norway is easily the best place in europe. The further north, the better. Can you get an internal flight from Trondheim to Tromso, for example? Now to mid-march I would have thought is good time to go - new years eve perhaps with tlh could be fun. And if @Dayvo is providing entertainment as well, what more could you want?

The one thing I would recommend is the bestest, warmest clothes you own, as you might be hanging around awhile for AB to appear!
