I don't know how many have seen this story about an injured cyclist's plea for help after a crash went viral on Twitter, it is something I wouldn't have thought of doing, but it worked well in this case. Would you Tweet for help if you got into trouble?

She had no broken bones and sounded like she paniced (big style)..... she's not been riding long enough to be as mental as most of us. Sorry to sound harsh, but there was some major over-reaction.

TBH I recon most of us, and the hard core MTB'ers would have got up, dusted off and limped back (on foot). Had she busted something, then OK, you'd know about it.

Good use of Twitter, but she obviously uses it a lot as she seems to be a media type. I doubt most of us ever use twitter.

I know a few people who have "trailfinder" alerts set up so if you're going out alone on your bike/kayak/etc if you're not back by a certain time it will tweet everyone on your list. Seems sensible to me.
Hey, luckily the woman from the OP wasn't so seriously injured that it prevented her from taking some video footage of herself being carted out on a spinal board
