Apart from given you all a life
You know, stuff you've learned, help and advice recieved particularly OT (but cycle stuff's OK too).
Example: Those IT guys in Electric Cafe have helped me fix my family computer problem for which I am very appreciative. What a resource!

Edit; shame it can't improve my tryping and speeeeling...

Well it confirms that even well-run forums populated with nice people inevitably contain the odd.... well I said I was giving up bad language ;0)

Although you're usually ok if you avoid Politics and life.

Advice-a-plenty on cycling matters, on computers and phones, a welcome diversion from the daily grind and loads of laughs too!

It provides welcome diversion when you're ill (as I am this week) as I'm sure Noodley will confirm.
I've also met some decent forum members through the rides, one of whom has had the pleasure of me dossing in his house!

Funnily enough, the most recent helpful thing was IT-related; someone on here recommended Pure's 'Network Magic' to sort out the inability of my Vista laptop and XP PC to see each other on my home network. Installed it and it sorted it out instantly - up to that point, I'd spent hours every day scouring the web and applying all sorts of fixes and changing every conceivable setting to no avail.

Saved me from many, many months of stress and anger

Other than that, I've met so many helpful people and many have restored my faith in human nature. Someone even went as far as going to their local Lidl to get me a pair of gloves and sending them to me, fully trusting that I (a complete stranger) would send them a cheque in return.

Only joined you lot earlier this month and already reaping the benefits. List is too long and varied to give here, but after six years of commuting by mike it's nice to know other enjoy it as much I do and that I'm not the only one who gets mown down by the occasional idiot in a four+ wheeled vehicle.

I have been given a free fixed rear wheel and had lots of good advice / assistance on my fixed build. Also I have a free frame awaiting my collection in a couple of weeks time.

Also I have bought and sold cycle parts with other members of CC often usually at reduced prices.

I've had loads of really good cycling related advice on here and I appreciate it when someone does take their time to respond to questions I've asked, however daft.

And the forum is a nice way to have a few laughs in an otherwise dull working day.

A really good part about this forum is there are lots of forummers and it doesn't matter what you want to know someone on here will know it and as it's a busy forum the threads are always fast moving.

I like it!

Ps Like your NOBS website FF - bikes and beer, top stuff!

Lots of laughs and some really useful tips. I've learned what 'primary and secondary' is all about, so it's good to know that after all this time, I'm not being an obstinate so-and-so on the roads, wasting valuable seconds of driver's time, but merely adopting the primary position! Also got some cracking advice and links about replacing my gear shifters- attaching cables etc, which I'd never have tried meself before.

I used to commute by mike too - but he got tired and gave it up!
