Smoking is seen to be socially unacceptable by some but not all of the population.

It's perfectly legal to 'vape' so be pragmatic and use premises that ban the devices.

Smokers tolerate your intolerance so a bit of give and take is called for.

Kids are more discerning that you give them credit for.

Light a candle rather than curse the darkness. It will do wonders for your anxiety and blood pressure.

By some, you mean by many, if a smoker started to light up indoors I am sure the majority would disapprove.

Well the law should change to make it illegal in premises.

Children can be very easily influenced more so than you give credit for.

I have no anxiety at all and my blood pressure is 110 systolic over 55 diastolic, so have no problems with that either.

If they're so impressionable, then why don't you influence them not to smoke?

Most likely so that smokers will be lured there thinking they're real cigs, and then buy the electric ones instead.

Why don't you tell them the difference, then?

I do, but how do explain that nicotine is still harmful and addictive. I should not have to explain the difference, they should not be seen in this bold fashion.

If they had a stall without these huge cigarettes then there would be less of an issue. Why did sweet cigarettes stop being sold to children in sweet shops. They were not harmful.

Because parents started expecting everyone else to do their parenting for them. Just like when a kid does something violent, it's GTA's fault.

Lets stick to e-cigarettes. There's no grounds for objection as the emissions are mostly water vapour and are odourless.

Take your parenting responsibility more seriously and take it upon your self to explain thoroughly the issues to your children rather than expect the state to enforce your personal gripes.

The sweet cigarettes issue is not relevant to your objections.

Do you expose your children to the sight of people drinking alcohol? Just curious.

Yep, ads for e-cigarettes are very big and very prominent.... and before long they will be much more strictly controlled. There was a programme on R4 the other week talking about them, and with so many flavours available, and not much control... under 18s are loving them.

A load of children who might not smoke using these e cigarettes as they are portrayed as safe been addicted to nicotine.

They are for smokers trying to give up.

Not children starting out on them.

Very concerning.

this was the major focus of the R4 article... and all the 'flavours' makes them very attractive to kids*, just like alcopops.

*teenage kids, not juniors... i hope!
