I hope that, like me, in this situation, you think what Dr Hutch really meant in the last sentence wasn't the word incidentally, but 'unfortunately'

It would have been even better if little old lady had kicked him in the Plums, for inconsideration, bad manners & general scrote-ness

My 'take' on it, obviously

Same thing really, is it not. Either way, a swift kick in the stones was warranted.

I shall be riding across Grantchester Meadows to the Orchard Tearooms tomorrow morning...
Much care will be taken to avoid slippery bridges and 80 year old ladies wearing body cams

When in New York I saw a similar thing, some guy was cycling at speed across Brooklyn bridge then turning round and crossing again, he screamed at everyone to get the F out his way.

Group of Asian tourists didn’t understand and he crashed.

I couldn’t help smirking as he really was being a complete ass.

They need a new proof reader, "form the other side"!

I'm glad it was a young person on the bike ,not an older person in their 80s.

Because as far as I can understand, the fall was because of the infrastructure, and if the cyclist had been elderly, that fall might have ended an active life.

(I'm guessing the cyclist would not have mown down the old lady, because that's a relatively rare occurrence. Plus I don't remotely threaten the genitals of strangers on the basis of smug little new items like the one quoted above.)

There's nothing wrong with the use of the word incidentally; the writer is just concluding with a little note to assure readers that despite his idiocy, the ccyclist wasn't seriously hurt.
