One of my bugbears is people parking on pavements when there really is no need to. I've challenged a few people over the years and the consistent response is that they do it "so cars can get through". There is absolutely no thought for any form of transport except cars. If and when I become mobility scooter bound I shall carry an airzound and won't hesitate to use it at length if a parked car is obstructing the footpath and I suspect the offender is in ear-shot.
My wife once did this in a Tesco store....there was a chavriolet parked in the disabled bay with no badge so she complained, manager reviewed CCTV and it was four young ladsOne of my bugbears is people parking on pavements when there really is no need to. This in spades. And it seems Lewisham borough council have enshrined this must give cars room in their own by laws with white lines on pavements denoting the amount cars are allowed to use up. In practice many cars park beyond these lines and as soon as there's an overgrown hedge or if it's the day bins are collected there's not even room for an able bodied person to get by without walking in the road let alone someone using a wheelchair or pushing a pram. it's crazy, not only do they have the roads but they've taken our pavements too. I've broken the habit of a lifetime and I'm onto the local councillors about this. GrrrOne of my bugbears is people parking on pavements when there really is no need to.
