Your her indoors?
wtf?

One of my bugbears is people parking on pavements when there really is no need to. I've challenged a few people over the years and the consistent response is that they do it "so cars can get through". There is absolutely no thought for any form of transport except cars. If and when I become mobility scooter bound I shall carry an airzound and won't hesitate to use it at length if a parked car is obstructing the footpath and I suspect the offender is in ear-shot.

We had a local councillor when kept on bleating about cycles on pavements

When challenged about her own parking on the pavement, the reply was that drivers "have to park on pavements, but cyclists chose to"

Wasn't very happy hour when the local Police meeting stated hat they would be impartial. Any pavement complaint whether cycling or parking would be dealt with in the same way

My wife once did this in a Tesco store....there was a chavriolet parked in the disabled bay with no badge so she complained, manager reviewed CCTV and it was four young lads

Manager, somewhat unimpressed announced "Would the owner of ** please remove their vehicle fromthe disabled parking facility"

Within a few seconds, young muppet runs up to desk to complain about the announcement, however after a veryy public discussion between a woman in a wheelchair and a fit young man trying to justify his parking, he moved

This is one of them times when pictures are definitely not required.

This in spades. And it seems Lewisham borough council have enshrined this must give cars room in their own by laws with white lines on pavements denoting the amount cars are allowed to use up. In practice many cars park beyond these lines and as soon as there's an overgrown hedge or if it's the day bins are collected there's not even room for an able bodied person to get by without walking in the road let alone someone using a wheelchair or pushing a pram. it's crazy, not only do they have the roads but they've taken our pavements too. I've broken the habit of a lifetime and I'm onto the local councillors about this. Grrr

Just about all the roads around here have the pavements littered with bollards and have been transformed by parked cars into single track roads with intermittent passing places. Even with that people still manage to drive into the bollards and they end up leaning at all angles and taking up even more pavement space. I'm not at all sure that pedestrians should be inconvenienced, first by illegal parking and then by bollards placed there to discourage illegal parking, and then further inconvenienced by incompetent illegal pavement drivers knocking the stupid things over.
