Ha ha, the Slummy Mummies will be in a panic over that!

LOL.

The school are really proactive re: parking problems around the school. There are regular initiatives promoting walking to school, theres a walking bus organised by volunteers, school has just installed cylcle parking and a local pub kindly allows parents to use their car park and parents can walk with their children from there.

That said, it is fairly congested around that time - but I don't think its as bad as some other primary schools that I ride past on my way to work.

I don't blame you for feeling disatisfied with the police response on this. I think it is very unsatisfactory. The officer appears to be talking out of their back side and either needs retraining or sacking. The Tories want to get rid of 20% of them so maybe this one's name can be at the top of the list. It was a proper cop and not a penguin that dealt with you and the driver? Pavements are for pedestrians and not for vehicles to drive along or park on unless so directed by byelaws or for them to be crossed to access property which requires a dropped kerb. From your account it doesn't appear the van driver was doing any of these. Shouldn't his vehicle be fitted with an audible warning device when reversing?
