I thought last nights programme was a real let down and a very poor effort compared to their previous specials. The highlight for me was the game of cricket at the end and the night time driving. The rest was same old same old

The night time driving was terrifying.

The cricket, tiffin men and the scenery towards then were scant reward for the extensive tedium served up to loyal viewers.

Any alternative to Royal Mail has to be an accuracy improvement and cheaper too!
LMCO the vast profits and easy to beat standard set by RM is why so many companies have started to deliver letters to your door since the regulator opened up the system 5 years ago.

I'm with Vernon. We regularly receive stuff for same number/different street and all the variants listed - and every time we do, we wonder what of ours has gone where...

Don't get me wrong I have had as much crap as anyone, but when you consider the volumes they deal with and at 37p? to get something LeJoG overnight then I think it is a bit harsh to bash RM especially when compared to other delivery firms.

Unfortunatley TG is now one of those programs that has so many viewers due to the "entertainment" factor that whole episodes are geared to arsing around rather than talking about cars. I've been watching it for many years and will still watch without fail, but a case in point was during the last series there was one episode where they talked about cars the whole time (very little arsing about!) and at the end Jeremy made a joke and apologised about all the car reviews and general theme to that episode and said back to normal fooling around next week!

If it was up to me, i'd have the purely car based shows every week and even though i like the banter and the light hearted messing about the guys get up to, it's always the same old gags and far too much of it. But when its pulling in millions of viewers who enjoy the entertainment side of it when they may not watch when its more of the old car based show the bosses will always tell the guys to continue fooling around in the same format.

Shame.

I watched it but didn't think much of it.

The scenes of them driving along chaotic roads were interesting, but so many of the "jokes" were telegraphed.

Not their best effort by any means.

Didn't notice them using bikes to deliver though

They use them at each end of the train journey - it was referred to in the programme, plus Velo Vision had a feature on them in issue 25.

In relation to not using a train

It is a side issue to the accuracy of delivery of the tiffin men. A computerised state of the art sorting system was outperformed by a huge margin by an antiquated manual delivery system irrespective of the transport system.

It's the accuracy that I value not the infrastructure.

What as a computerised state of the art sorting system got to do with a missdelivered letter?? Last time I looked my postman was still flesh and blood.

At the end of the day it boils down to the average Indian employee being more reliable/conscientious /intelligent than a goodly percentage of the British work force. A fact that wouldn't alter whomsoever covered the role of RM

The posties are part of the system. Scrap the machinery sack the posties and employ tiffin men. I might then have to wait a millenium before I recieve a misdirected letter.

I'm a very patient and immortal man.

Sorry must have amended my last reply whilst you where writing yours, dread to think what the unemployment figure would be like amongst the British workforce though if your method of improving efficiency was carried out across all Uk services/ industry.
