Probably right smiffy but they've only bowled 10 overs in the innings and it's Dawson'd debut!

Trouble is Dawson is 4th pick - 5th if you count Joe Root

India finish day two on 60 without loss, 417 runs behind.

I'm sure they'll up the run-rate tomorrow and possibly declare sometime between lunch and tea on the 4th day, with a lead of 200 or so (who needs Mystic Meg?) giving themselves five sessions to make inroads into England's batting, who will need to bat the Test out, or at least have a lead that would be beyond India to reach safely in time.

Hmm, bit of a bold/optimistic prediction, but you never know.

I'd be delighted for you to be proved wrong but I suspect you're not far wide of the mark there ^^^

Don't be surprised if I am wrong.

Alternatively - The pitch will be different tomorrow - Broad will take 6 for not many - India out 250 behind - Cook enforces the follow on - India 100 ahead but it rains on Tuesday - Draw ^_^

With 18 overs remaining on the penultimate day, India are just short of a 200-run lead with four wickets in hand. I suspect they'll declare overnight (or possibly have a quick 5-6 over blast at England this evening) and expect to bowl them out in three sessions tomorrow.

Splendid effort from Nair, 246* at the moment.

England looks like a team that wants to be on the plane home for Christmas

717-6

Only surprise is that Kholi hasn't declared yet. Presumably he's going to let Nair try to get to 300, confident that his bowlers can get rid of England in 3 sessions. Oh, and that Jennings looked as threatening as any of the England bowlers (which probably says more about the other bowlers than it does about Jennings)

It's a bit more complicated than that...
759-7. Crumbs. The seventh highest innings total ever, and only seven runs short of the recent record. Also, at just shy of 4 runs an over one of the fastest big scores ever.

England will crumble tomorrow.

India are a very good team in home conditions, but this pitch is clearly not helping the game of test cricket.
If they keep, producing pitches like this then they will break all batting records going.
A match that ends on day 4 with 20 wickets is much more enjoyable than this borefest.
