My boss from the recycling got bit by an Alsation, apparently scared of high viz due to being kicked by a postman when it was a puppy. Anyway he went to the GP and they said he would need a tetanus, he got sent to the hospital to have the wound checked out, they told him if you have had the injection before i.e when at school and as a young adult your covered for life; you don't need it again.

The fluffy one in the middle was given up by an owner at 13 weeks of age as started to get a bit big.....
She initially got a staffie, but got rid of it then got Bear (fluffy one in the middle). After having him about 4 weeks she decided he would be too big so got a lab (then I took on bear ). Within a week she then got a jack russell to keep the lab company - then she got rid of the lab, the got a yorkie to keep the jack russell company....
This woman has learning difficulties, and doesn't drive - in each case a breeder went to her with a pup. Complete twats motivated by nothing other than the sale.

Wow, they are handsome hounds. Are they all rescues?
My Rottie was given up by his owners as the found out he was Diabetic. He comes from a good pedigree, apparently, so why would you pay over £500 for a dog and not insure it! Their loss was our gain as they say. Rehomed him from the dogstrust, sure the first few months of getting his blood sugar level sorted was hard work... now it’s 2nd nature, need to feed him at the same times daily with a 12 hour gap, also inject him twice a day and take blood tests a few times during the day to make sure he’s fine. My only worry is if he crashes with a hypo and I can’t get him out of it, it’s how the effe do I shift that weight to the vets!
My little Alsatian cross (I really like my cross breeds) was going to be destroyed as the SSPCA couldn’t rehome her as she was a nervous wreak. When I rehomed her she used to go hide and pee herself if I had a drink in the house (I don’t drink that often so it never clicked) She also had an issue when she saw drunk men in the street. So from this we assume she was beaten by a drunk. She is a little star of a dog, and to think it would be a valuable little life lost due to some fooktard’s ignorance really winds me up... grrrrr
Then there is the life Greyhounds live.. I could rant forever about this subject

Locky is a GSD/husky cross. We got him from the SSPCA last Dec aged 9. We don't know too much about his past but we found he's full of arthritis at the back end with loose shoulders up front. We've got him on the max dose of metacam and hydrotherapy weely (£28.50 a go!) - thank god for insurance!
In the past I claimed I wouldn't take on an old dog from a rescue. In future I'll be taking in oldies to live out their days in comfort.

I love dogs, was brought up with them... but they are a big responsibility...
Most folk are responsible..but you have to be careful with a big bounding animal...friendly or not...
What get's me is the current 'status symbol' of owning a nasty dog......dog's aren't nasty unless you make them..or are can't/don't look after them....
The other week spooked me though, that was the first time that a dog has ever had a go....TBH..as an adult......., I half expected it as the owner had tied it up too close to the door of a shop - i.e. it was "protecting" the 'owner' - his fault.... blooming good job I was expecting it... I wouldn't have even gone past with the kids though.........and that was a 'nice dog' ...... hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I agree that you should report this. It's unlikely to be the last bite this dog has unless the owner learns to control it.
In York we had a Rottweiler called Tyson (sums up its owner) that attacked people, not only cyclists. Had to be put down.

Hey Alec, the way I see it is that it's your duty to report it. The police need to be notified. At least the woman may get a bit of a shock which could force her to take better control of her mutt. Also, I'm sick of all this crap about 'it's the owner not the dog'. Some of the most controlled dog have gone savage in the past - so that argument isn't even worth taking up. I'd have them all put down. End of.
