Crikey...

I had one of those a few years ago, forcing me into parked cars. Then I realised he was pulling a caravan too
I caught him at the next junction and told him he'd (literally) come within 2 inches of killing me. The response was a quick 'sorry' then he buried the throttle and roared off.

What a terrible overtake.
Yeah, it's rental vans though isn't it?

Driver has probably never driven one before, no idea of the spatial awareness with that sized vehicle. Unlikely to be malice.

I know they're useful when you're moving house or something, but I've always thought it a bit nuts to rent them out willy nilly.

Full on brown pants moment, had a similar thing on Friday with an artic on Wandsworth Bridge Road...
i find the problem with 40' ers or so is that the driver doesn't think how long the trailer is and pulls back into left lane too soon and you almost get swiped out by the end of the trailer

what should they do? i think now days the younger drivers need a special licence which needs another test to drive them

I don't know of a likely fix, I'd prefer that driving licenses were only issued to those over 25 for a start, and revoked at old age.

I've always viewed motor vehicles primarily as a few tonnes of unwieldy death moving at speed. Put that way I'd only ever want them in safe hands, rather than viewing as some sort of right to mobility.

But that's just me

Dreadful pass.

As others have mentioned...and this is on no way blaming the rider, if you want to "try" to stop this type of pass, take a more commanding position on pinch/danger points.

Other road users often "need" the rider to show them how to drive...sadly
