Well, that road is pretty narrow - to overtake a cyclist would take driving on the wrong side - not cyclist error, motorist, especially with a blind bend !
Completely OT now today coming back from the cafe with a club mate the traffic was really bad because of road works. We couldn't believe our eyes a black cab (silver actually) just sat there with an ambulance directly behind blaring its sirenupandover said:A slight aside but one that amuses me. I had my closest call on Wed night, nearly knocked of. By an Ambulance!

Don't worry, its not one of those long rambling posts - even I'm not drunk at 10am in the morning. Bizarrely, although you're on my ignore list I still enjoy you posts by proxy. So much so, I was inspired to write a haiku. Hope you like it!

Would I be better off letting them scrape past at traffic islands or just before a blind summit so they can swerve into me when the oncoming vehicle appears? Or should I be letting them do this because the extra 5 seconds of their journey is more important than my physical wellbeing? I shall have to rethink my road positioning as I've got it all wrong.![]()

Now they can bloody well wait. I'll take as much room as I believe is necessary to maximise my safety. I'm sure there'll be the cretins that still have a go, or the one's that believe their life will end if they can't get past, but I don't care anymore.
When I drive I have no problem with cyclists, I'm capable of controlling a car at low speeds and exercising patience without killing someone. Anyone who can't should have their license pulled for life.
