Doing the London to Paris organised by a charity through work - 48 of us, well organised, support buses, bikes locked on coaches etc.

My bikes are included on my home insurance policy (Kwik Fit) and I'm going to give them a ring to ask what the cost would be to include the 2 days in France. Are any alternative policies actually worth looking into ? What's the general experience with bike insurance.

I'm a CTC member.

All-risks section of your household contents policy is always cheapest and, paradoxically, usually offers the best cover too (lowest excess, generally no security requirements more specific than 'locked'). Mine covers me worldwide.

My house contents insurance policy covers the bike for foreign trips too. I think that it's quite common. As @Trikeman says, such policies are a bargain compared to bike-specific ones. The only thing to check is what happens to your no-claims bonus if you make a claim.
