if i have my bike insured, and choose to cover it for racing, does this mean if i crash, i can claim off the insurance?

yes, it says it all in your BC handbook.

Infact your covered by BC for insurance due to racing

I was under the impression that LVRC events were covered. (Obviously BC wouldn't cover TLI races )

to be honest you'd be very unlucky to break anything during a race, I can't even remember the last time I saw a pro break anything substantial

I meant bikes sorry, I've seen the odd bone break every now and then, and thinking about it I vastly remember a wheel being broken against a dog last year in the TdF.
