Can anyone recommend a good value insurance company to obtain cover for my new bike, i'm currently getting online quotes of £45/50pm.

Cheers

You don't say what insurance cover you want, but if you have it, you may have adequate cover on the house insurance.

Home insurance is the most effective way. Get an extension or take out an additional policy through them. I can recommend co-operative insurance if your provider doesn't play ball.

As a BC Ride member I fully agree with the benefit of third party cover but don`t use normal insurance it`s a rip off. I would rather put the yearly payments in the bank and use whats there if someone steals my bike. Having said that it only works if you don`t lose a brand new bike.

With a good household policy you can have home and away cover for little or no extra premium.

The specialist companies do seem to be extremely expensive. My house contents is less than one company quoted for two bikes and a tandem!
