On the subject of approved locks. Anyone else been told a motorcycle lock(gold rating) isn't sufficient for a pedal cycle, due to it not being on the insurers list of approved locks?

On the subject of approved locks. Anyone else been told a motorcycle lock(gold rating) isn't sufficient for a pedal cycle, due to it not being on the insurers list of approved locks?

I'd imagine that an insurer who produces a list of approved locks might get a bit sniffy about something not on that list being used in the event of a claim - however, given the current regulatory system surrounding insurance if you could prove it was of the same or a higher standard of security, then you'd probably* be OK.
But it would be down to you do all the running about and it might seriously delay any claim.
