Apparently, they rarely get past 8 storms in the season so the latter part of the alphabet is academic..

Quebec and X ray seem to work in other areas

Could just use the phonetic alphabet and add the year

So, Alpha 25. But the season goes over two years. So it would have to be Alpha 56 or next year Alpha 67.
Much more sensible.
