Quarter sawn is the best & most stable timber, but expensive to mill.
Take a look at the timber next time you're in a DIY shed & it'll mostly be 'mixed' cut & twisted & cupped like a propeller.

JIS v Phillips screwdrivers.

It was quite a revalation when I discovered the
existance of JIS having previously cursed philips screws for being crap. They are less crap when you use the right screwdriver

@PeteXXX Interesting that you posted these two as the Football one lists Brighton incorrectly as ‘The Shrimps’ when their nickname is actually ‘The Seagulls’. Morecambe F.C. are ‘The Shrimps’.
