Aye, this was covered in some depth this year on my environmental studies degree course.

A short while ago I was involved in feeding data to the bean-counters at the company I was working for to support a cost cutting exercise. The aim was to provide senior leadership with some magic course of action to identify inefficiencies and reduce costs. Every time we thought we had a simple message for them we'd discover "ah but it's more complicated than that". Dept X was actually subsidising dept Y. Product X was actually incurring hidden costs. Cost X wasn't real but was some kind of funny money. And so on.

The colour of the meat?

More pronounced with Turkey, but wing and leg meat is definitely darker than breast meat.
