I once had a student called Tasmania.

Now part of me want Kurt Student to have been born in Tasmania.

Funny that the remaining businesses called chandlers these days are boat/marine related. And I doubt they sell many candles.

A chandler and a ship chandler are different businesses.

But ship chandler is usually just shortened to chandler nowadays.

Presumably with a common origin. It would be a bit weird if marine chandlers just happened by chance to have the same name as candle mongers.

Wow! Who needs ‘diversity’? We’ve already got it :-)
Although this map - I assume it’s of accents - does not show the half of it. Commonly two towns 20 miles apart will have different accents. But I don’t think there’d be a big enough map to show it (or enough colours we could tell apart).
