Yesterday, as I cycled through the village of Walliswood on the way to work, I saw a motorist stranded at the side of the road. I stopped and asked if she needed any help upon which she replied that a branch had got lodged under her car and she couldn't get it out and was in the process of phoning the RAC. I had a look under the car and with a bit of wiggling managed to free the offending item for which she was very grateful. That made me feel good for the rest of the ride, thinking I might possibly have made a small positive contribution to motorist/cyclist relations
.
Today, again cycling through Walliswood I saw an ambulance ahead stopped on the opposite side of the road with its blue lights flashing. As I got closer there were a couple of people stopped on the opposite side of the road in front of the ambulance and on my side of the road a totally mangled car which looked like it had been in a high speed head on collision with something. Can't think what could have happened as the road there is straight with decent visibility. Hopefully the driver survived.
I wonder what is going to happen tomorrow. They say things happen in threes, or something like that.
