Can someone please explain the Alsaka most-easterly situation. I don't get it?

Yup, it is the most westerly, as is obvious, but look where it stretches out to. It terminates at a point only a few miles from Russian territory and is so big (easily the biggest of the states) that is goes round so far, it ends up in the east!
Anyway, I know I'm going to see something VERY interesting today and it will take place in your part of the world. I am giving up the unalloyed pleasure of going to Anfield so I can take my wife to East Yorkshire, near GRIMsby (isn't that how you write it?) to see her father for the first time since she was 2 years old! It should have happened in our house a couple of weeks ago but her brothers got together and decided he wasn't coming until they'd all democratically decided how to play this so as not to upset their mother. Being a BH weekend, they've all decided to make it today when they could all go and see him. They met him on Facebook and you can tell reading his comments, he is as excited as a dog with two tales (probably a whopper of a tale or two so it was a deliberate misspelling) at the prospects of meeting all of his middle-aged children! 2pm we're seeing him. Do you know the Kings Head in Waltham? That's the meeting place.
So it's political/date line boundaries as opposed to actual physical geographical positioning?
Here's a good one I've said before:
One cubic metre of the Sun produces less energy than the average human body.
I know it is Sunday, but I have things to do, other than discuss a date with you.![]()

I learned something very interesting this week. It's the type of thing Steven Fry (he inconvenienced me in a MASSIVE way some years ago, btw!) would ask on QI.
Gotta be QOS?
Well if you travelled due south of Glasgow, which English county would be the first you entered?
That's in Lincolnshire, south of the Humber. East Yorkshire is north of the Humber.
I'm DYING to know how Stephen Fry inconvenienced you, I'm a massive Fry fan.![]()
