I just purchased a specialised carbon Hybrid, i expect there has been lots of threads on this🤔.
I notice where cables go into frame there are no grommets, just the holes in frame.
so not much room to slide a sleeve over the outer cable & the rattle is half way down the tube.
Is my option to taut outer cable & put a zip tie on?.
Thanks for any advise😁.

Go back to the dealer and ask them to fix the rattle - they'll have come across the same issue before.

Tbh internal cables are a PITA - my Trek has only the rear Hydro cable buried in the downtube and being a pretty rigid thing it doesn't rattle at all. Fortunately the FD & RD cables are run outside the frame. I cannot abide rattles.

Those cables rattle on my CAAD5 and they are external! :okay:

Yes, rattles are annoying. I significantly reduced the rattle by sticking a small square of duct tape on the downtube where the cables were clattering against it.

My old Boardman Pro Carbon had rattly internal cables, I loosened the cables off at the mechs, removed the cable guide under the frame at the BB, then stuffed a load of pipe lagging foam, up into the affected tubes through the hole ( the sort that you can protect your frame and forks with whilst travelling) bingo, no more rattles. Screw the cable guide back on, retighten the cables, do the indexing checks, job jobbed.

This is what I’m talking about. Put some double sided sticky tape on the foam strips, and push them into position using an old spoke, and / or use the tubular lagging around the cables inside the tube. You can get these from most good DIY places.

Well I’ve had to take bike to lbs as the tubeless tyres won’t hold pressure & there sorting big out the rattles while it’s there.👍😬
thanks for all advice, just want some dry weather to ride it now.
