I am right handed, but a lot if my work means using my left, also I spend a fair amount of time working upside down.

We did buy 10 pairs of left handed scissors for the local school when we discovered they did not own one pair in the whole school. It was something my wife noticed when going in as an unpaid helper.

Early anaesthetic machines were set up in a typical left handed fashion after Henry Boyle"s, a left hander himself, contribution towards his help in their development.

I suspect the number of left handed people is higher than reported as I personally know of a number of people, not to much older than me, that were actively discouraged at school to use their left hands.
I was one of them.
Result: my handwriting has always been atrocious, can't use a can opener for the life of me ( I get half way round the lid, then forget what way I'm supposed to turn the thing), have problems in holding hedge trimmers the right way round, scissors are problematic and (don't laugh) I cannot do tight right turns on the bike, left is no problem.

I am almost totally right side dominant, though my left arm is stronger & a little bigger than my right.

Although I used to consider myself a very good standard footballer, my left foot skills were scratchy, my 5 year old daughter on the other hand has a rocket of a left foot & is predominantly left sided playing football but naturally right sided at everything else.
I suspect she has inherited her left foot prowess from the outlaws on the Salford & Stretford side.

Let's see whether cyclists meet the 90-10 split. I work in social care, and from the informal "which hand are they writing with" count around meeting tables I'd suggest that in that arena it's more 70-30.

I'm right-handed, although they do say that left-handers are gifted; as is my left-handed daughter.
