I'd just let her get on with it, get a feel for the bike and enjoy it.
I got my first road bike at same age (a long time ago though )
Rode it every day (even in the snow), came off loads but got up some mammoth hills on 5 gears

Thanks. Like every parent I think I was projecting my own anxieties onto my daughter. Already looking forward to a longer ride at the weekend.
