IP address banned

@glasgowcyclist reports that he's being told his IP address is banned here, but he can still see NCAP perfectly, so is confused. As he can't get on here to ask, he asked someone to ask on his behalf. Any clues?

It appears to only affect my phone (Samsung) as I can access the site on this iPad. I use a VPN on both, both currently set to Canada.

Hi @glasgowcyclist if you use a VPN there is a chance that the random IP you are using was banned by us mods in the past because spammers were trying to join CC.
This won't happen in NCA&P because the only people that have access to it have already been vetted by the CC mods.

You are correct.
Sometimes we have over 100 posts a session to approve, all from the same spammers with a different username - AI can do this in seconds.
If we see the spammers IP is from roughly the same area, we just umbrella ban an IP postcode, so to speak.
Sorry to Canadian members
