Recently I've found that my iPad seems to have changed the way it works in Chrome, and I don't think the problem is just limited to this site.

So when I look at my alerts, and click on one of them, it used to take me down the page to that message, now it just takes me to the correct page. So it becomes more of a chore to follow a thread as I have to work out which is the last post I looked at.

On another site when I page on (and possibly this one), when I page on it seems to leave me at the bottom of the page rather than scrolling to the top of the page. I sit there waiting for the content to be displayed, them remember and try scrolling up, only for it to appear.

I would say it only started happening a couple of days ago!

Sorry if that doesn't make sense, I'm not the most technical of people, and I've been trying to work out myself what is going on unsuccessfully! I've done the obvious (switch it off and on), and then made sure the latest update from Apple was installed, deleted some stuff to give me a bit more space on the iPad. Any suggestions?

I'm also having the same problem on my phone.

When I click on an alert it takes me to the first post on a page rather than the new post. And then I have to scroll down and work out which one it is (I keep trying to remember the name of the poster but they may make more than one reply on a page).

It seems to have updated it self 2 days ago... Which is approximently when it started going wrong I'd say.

I use Chrome on my iPad and apart from it being horribly laggy when entering text, I haven't had any issues like the ones you describe. I use Chrome on my Win7 lapdog and quite like it. I put it on the iPad as well, but I can't see much advantage over Safari, so I might well get rid of it.

So this doesn't work? https://www.cyclechat.net/threads/ipad-help-with-chrome.195240/#post-4131554 <- should go to this post.

Does this? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTML_element#Anchor <- should go to the section beginning "Anchor <a>...</a>"
Clicking on the first one just remained at the same post, and clicking on the second one took me to the top of the page on Wiki, when I scrolled down a bit, I found the word Anchor in the side, clicked that and it did jump to the right place.
