Only two wee rides for me today, spent most of the morning on/off the bike Christmas shopping in the city centre. Roads & shops relatively quiet still, and got away again just as it started to get really quite busy ... nae parking problems at all, pretty much outside the shops
... a total of 6.1 k over 2 hours = 3 kph
(or ~2mph for the metrically challenged
).
Just back from the 2nd ride, had to pedal really hard downhill in a middling gear, MetOffice shows gusts up to 49mph for the last hour - headwind much better than cross wind, as far as I am concerned. Got quite wet on the way back, but wind-assisted climbing was fun, but nothing like what @Rasmus' Crow Road ride must have been like
... Glad I had the lights with me, too.
FACT OF THE DAY: While the days are still getting a wee bit shorter overall for another week or so, today appears to have been the earliest sunset ... improving again from now on.
Sunrises still have a few minutes to go in the 'wrong' direction...

- that'll learn ya !

Just need to quit the drinking then
... how did you get on with each other?
. I was lucky to find a colleague with a spare Knog to get me home... very strange to only have a light to be seen with rather than one to see by
. Luckily I know all the 'ordinary' bumps & potholes on the commute, there were a couple of small objects that I didn't see in time though, no harm done to the tyres, phew.

. I went for the Schwalbe Winter in the end (700 x 30c), there are lots of types/sizes to choose from ...
and company
All good here on the west coast...........
