Nay, water stopped, just the cupboard got soaked, time it was cleaned out anyway.
Going to bed early, have a 70 mile ride to the Kelpies and back tomorrow

Maybe I need a few water leaks too then. Stuff usually comes out to meet me before I clean cupboards out. LolNay, water stopped, just the cupboard got soaked, time it was cleaned out anyway.

night ride was epic.cycled though and found my legs as I entered edinburgh. ended up at the start half an hour earlier than expected.
first few miles ok, misjudged a turn though a fence then path and took a tumble onto some bushes......sadly not the worst thing to happen to me, as 8 miles in my back gear cable exploded, and the mechanic couldnt repair, as apparetly 105 is the hardest gears to fix. I will issue a pamphlet on this shortly this left me with 3rd ring in H/L at the front to navigate the rest of the ride.managed this and made my ton, before accepting @GlasgowFinn s kind offer of a run home to avoid any more damage to the bike. off to my bed now for some sleep. thansk @GlasgowFinn and @Brandane for their company, @Scoosh for leading us, and @Telemark for her organising skills in setting it all up

That was my first night ride and I loved it! If anyone would like to know how difficult 105s are to fix, @Louch is your man. Good to meet @Brandane for the first time - thanks for the craic guys!

Fantastic night out. Thanks to @Telemark for all her hard work in organising this, and to @Scoosh, @DougieAB and another (non CC bloke) for their leading and marshalling of the group which also included @GlasgowFinn and @Louch . Thanks to the aforementioned Alastair and Stephen for their company on the ride; at times it was a riot and I could hardly pedal for laughing; no danger of falling asleep at the wheel 
. Just a pity that Mr Louch saw fit to sabotage his own bike and nobble the gears so that he had an excuse for not being able to keep up with the blistering pace 
. Good to see @Fubar there too, despite me not recognising him in his bearded disguise 
. He was sensible and escaped to one of the other groups! Strava here.

Another great EdFoC Night Ride 
completed successfully !
A great turn-out from CC Ecosse : 4 Ride Leaders - @Telemark (Organiser par excellence)
, @Fubar, @DougieAB and me; 5 Riders - @flyingfifi, @Brandane, @goo_mason, @Louch and @GlasgowFinn. 11% of the total riders !
A bit chillier than I had expected but no more than 5 mins of very light drizzle as we travelled through the dark, passing along the lovely dark lanes of East Lothian, with a very brief foray into light in Haddington, the narrow lane past Hailes Castle, a great sprint along the main road to Dunbar and fuel stop at W Barns.
The return took us past the ford by Knowes farm, the Saltire Museum at Athlestainford and the viewpoint by the Hopetoun Monument before the final hill of the day - the brilliant downhill from Tranent to Musselburgh
and so back for an excellent breakfast, courtesy of Mrs and Daughter Scoosh

Thanks to everyone who rode - a number of whom had never ridden at night before, some had never done 100km before - and now they've all done both !
Good to have so many Westies coming over too.
Special kudos to @Louch, whose rear gear cable broke right in the shifter and couldn't be fixed on the road - but he still managed the "some lumps, no real hills" - then couldn't waste the 93.6 miles he had done by the end, so went and 'found' another 5.4 to complete his Imperial ton !
@edindave and @Col5632 - you can't miss it next year !

Can only echo comments above, it was an epic ride - I struggled to keep warm despite having a jacket on all night, so will bring an extra layer next time as recommended by @edindave!
As @Scoosh says there were varying degrees of abilities but everyone completed it in a great spirit with no moaning, and were all smiles at breakfast! Very satisfying knowing you have helped/encouraged people to complete an epic (must stop using that word) achievement.
Big thanks to @Telemark for inviting me and @Scoosh for chumming me on a recce of the route.

Hi all thanks for a wonderful night i had great time with you all and riding with 2 belles on bikes girls for different areas Edinburgh, Moray and me glasgow sorry i felt a bit ill just after the restart going up hill had the shacks well i just finished my tour on Monday from the west coast so had not time recovered from it yet sorry so far i,ve done over 417 miles in 2 weeks yepppp once again thank you and looking forward to to see you all in august xxx

Hugs thanks to all the CCers on the team this year , @Scoosh (veteran leader of all three EdFoC night rides ), @Fubar on my team, @DougieAB, and the entire Scoosh family for running both registration & the amazing spread at breakfast, and not forgetting the transport of about a ton of food (only a slight exaggeration
) to Leith. Among other things there were about 7 kg of bacon consumed this morning 
, and gallons of tea and coffee.
Thanks to all the rest of you for riding through the night with us, glad you enjoyed the ride
- it wouldn't be possible to organise something like this without a lot of amazing people giving up their time (and sleep!) to make it happen, not forgetting the West Barns stop-over crew!
If you aren't EdFoC-ed out yet, there are still two East Lothian audax rides from Musselburgh to come tomorrow (not sure if there are entries left for on the day), and a late addition to the programme next Friday (26th June) at 7pm: Mark Beaumont's first public talk on his recent successful record #AfricaSolo unsupported ride from Cairo to Capetown. If you've been to one of his talks before, you'll know he is an excellent speaker ... [end of advertising feature
