Is 800 for this a good deal?

My reaction would be £800 for a 13 year old bike is a bit of a joke unless it's pristine or perhaps a very rare model.

I'm replacing a nine year old Cervelo C3 in the next few weeks. It was £3200 new and has been well maintained but the signs of nine years use are there. I wouldn't sell her but just yesterday I thought about how much I might get. £250 - £300 if I'm lucky. My bike is "rare" in the sense the colour scheme was only in production for 12 months.

A secondhand bike has far more value to the original owner than the buyer. I wouldn't sell my C3 and will use her for dry weather winter rides. To buy a winter bike of this quality would cost £££££.

The problem for sellers is the item is only worth what someone will pay, not what the seller thinks it's worth.

Looks like it's SRAM XX, but you've a whole end of pain if the dropper and suspension need fixing.

By contrast I picked up a much more 'modern' 2015 BMC full suspension (29er, not a 26" like that Scott) for £300 a few years back. Similarly picked up a 2012 Colnago CX bike for £330 a couple of years ago.

Along with some words and a bit of gratitude...

I would say ‘not worth it’. It is old enough to be obsolete* but not yet old enough to be vintage. It was a decent bike BITD and has some decent components but is old fashioned without yet being old skool.

*by this I mean technology, geometry etc have moved on (boost hubs, thru-axle, wheel size, 1x, fork etc); of course it’ll still work and do a job.

There are an awful lot of things that can go wrong or wear out on a double-boinger, so by the time you've factored in a service and probable replacement of shocks and bushes, you're probably looking at a £1200-£1500 bike. Not a chance.
