I have studiously avoided a subscription to AP for years but am contemplating it. Is it worth it? I shop on Amazon a fair amount but it isn't always my go to. I was wondering whether to just pay for Prime TV?? Can you still separate them, only paying for one service and not the whole shebang?

Thoughts everyone.

Amazon Prime is available at £8.99 a month, or £95 a year.

Their Prime Video service is available on its own for £5.99 a month.

Really depends on what you want from the service whether it’s worth the extra £3 a month to you.

I've got it purely for the delivery, and consider the video as a bonus.
As a standalone TV app I'd pick Paramount or Netflix first. Prime would be 3rd behind those. I've not looked at Disney, ATV is 4th. YMMV.

I recently got Disney plus free from Sky for some reason. It is terrible. I spent a while looking at it and couldn't find one single program that appealed to me. Not one. There were a couple of possibilities in the movies section but even there they seemed to have curated a huge library of samey looking straight to video tripe. Oh well, it's free.

My wife has Prime Video. She finds things to watch on. it. I don't think I ever have.

Like anything else that costs money, its only worth it if youre using it.

Mrs D has it. She's a regular Amazon shopper so it more than pays for itself with saved postage costs, and not having a TV licence Im happy to make good use ofmthe streaming service.

If you do neither of these then its not worth it.

We have it

My wife reads a lot - and all on her Kindle
so she goes through a lot of books and the offers she gets from it makes it worthwhile

As we are registered as a family - or something - that means I get it as well

so anything either or us order - we both get whatever advantages there are - including delivery

so check out if other peope might want to share the cost and link your accounts or whatever

We have prime for deliveries and TV, but the latter only occasionally.

Also have Netflix and NOW.
Used to have Disney, which was great for children, but no longer have children living with us

I find the bbci player, itvx, U and other free on demand services really good now.

We also have a Firesticks on our TV's as well. This turns our non smart TVs into smart TVs. You can get all the terrestrial channels via a fire stick and WiFi, so eliminates the need for an Ariel cable in rooms which are not connected to your roof Ariel

Mod note. Please stay on topic and steer clear of politics. This is not an Amazon bashing thread. If that is your bag then please use NCAP. Thanks.

Joybuy have a free prine like month offer, them aiming take Amazons perch.
Amazon Haul tat is there to compete with Temu tat. Joybuy is a far more major attempt to beat Amazon.
More consumer options, myself using neither.

Large family Amazon Prime = worthwhile. No family, are you over consuming?

There is a problem that once you have it then it tends to boas you towards Amazon

which is not the most morally perfect company on Earth - not the worst by a long way

but

so I try to check other options before I use Amazon

but I often just end up there anyway

which is probably the whole point!!!
(plus data gathering and all that)

Be aware that Amazon niw has far fewer headline items but has a tendency to price match to deter competition.
I use Halfords a good bit and noticed near any offer there got Amazon price matched thus deterring Halfords.

I used to have it, on a student subscription at £30/40 a year, when that eventually expired I didn't renew at full price as no I don't think it was worth it.

Anything I do want to get from Amazon I look for the same image on the web, and usually find the same product at the same price or cheaper so I don't need to order £35 of stuff for free postage on Amazon.
