Is Amazon Prime susbscription worth it?

Am I wrong, or is the TV Free Trial deliberately designed to be confusing and lure you into various subscriptions?
How are you to know that your Amazon subscription only gets you the first 3Eps of this show??

Look - the owner of Amazon is having trouble raising funds for his latest yachts and private aircraft

and I don;t think he has bought a new supercar for WEEKS!!


poor guy has to get people to pay for things somehow!!!

You are not wrong. It is simply a teaser to entice you to subscribe.

I will add this in case it's useful for someone. All of my photos (thousands, from phone and camera going back over 20 years) were backed up to MS OneDrive until they said my drive was getting full. So about 10 years ago I switched to a Gmail and now I'm being told my Google storage is at 86% full. I only recently remembered that as a Prime member, I get unlimited photo storage. I made sure everything was set to back up to Prime photo (which it was) and when I'm 100% sure everything, ever, is backed up, then I will delete from my phone and from Google.

If I'm paying for Prime then I might as well use this facility, rather than trying to go through thousands of photos and videos deciding what to delete and what I may want to keep (e.g can't bring myself to delete any pics of my son, even if they're not very good ones).

It is. Which is why while I do back up to the cloud for convenience I back up to hard drives with dual redundancies.

Yes I suppose it is. Put all your eggs in an Amazon basket, and then when we know your whole life is in there, make you pay further monies to keep it. But, a) I'm fairly certain that we will keep our Prime membership forever, and b) if they start threatening me with extra payment then I can hopefully download everything in there and transfer to a physical drive or something. If I'm honest, now that we pay for Prime anyway, if there is a price increase then we would just absorb it. It's psychologically less of a strain to pay more, than it is to start paying £8.99/month for something you previously weren't paying for. Also, I expect only 20% of my media is "special", and though not ideal, I would probably not miss much of the other stuff as long as I kept the family pics.

But it does beg the question - once you outsource your memories to a money-making company, you are in their hands. And if you decide to copy them to e.g. a 2TB hard drive, you are then at the mercy of 1 box of ticks that could go wrong/break/become corrupted in some way.
